The numbers behind our Bitcoin World Map and Sleeping giants pages, as CSV and JSON files. Each package has its own licence, because its sources do: please read the licence note of the package you use.

Bitcoin ATMs from OpenStreetMap

Bitcoin ATMs that volunteers have mapped in OpenStreetMap, with country, operator, address and opening hours where recorded. This is not a complete list of the world's Bitcoin ATMs.

Dormant early coins

Early Bitcoin addresses that have not moved for over a decade, and the block rewards that share the Patoshi mining pattern, checked every week.

Sleeping giants: our own checks of the public Bitcoin blockchain, CC BY 4.0. Patoshi file: licence under review until every reward has been re-checked with sources that allow reuse (oldest check on file: 2026-11-06; this happens automatically within a few weeks).

Bitcoin node counts

Node counts by country are shown on the Bitcoin World Map and its country pages. Downloadable node files are not offered at the moment: we are waiting for permission from the source of the node data.

Good to know

Nodes are not users. The node counts are reachable nodes (those that accept connections). They do not measure how many people use Bitcoin.
Places are approximate. Node locations come from IP addresses and can be wrong, especially for data centres. Tor, I2P and CJDNS nodes have no location and are only counted worldwide.
No personal data. No node address is published, and countries with fewer than 5 nodes show only the count. See our privacy notice.
Gaps stay gaps. If a source cannot be reached on a day, that day is missing from the history. Nothing is filled in or estimated.
ATMs are incomplete. They are machines mapped in OpenStreetMap; many real machines are not mapped. Improvements belong on openstreetmap.org.
No warranty. The data is provided as is. Please verify before relying on it.

Every outside source Bitcoin Years uses, what for, and the terms that apply (checked 2026-11-06). Only the packages above are offered as Bitcoin Years open data; prices and live figures shown on other pages remain subject to their providers' terms.
